Who we are
SmithyForge Ltd ("we", "us") is a limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 13010572, with its registered office at Oaks Barn, Folly Lane, Holmwood, Dorking, England, RH5 4NH. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

This website
This website does not use cookies, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, and does not ask you to create an account.
Like almost all websites, our hosting server keeps standard access logs, which include the IP address of visiting devices, the pages requested, and the browser's user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working (our legitimate interest under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), and they are deleted automatically on rotation, typically within 30 days.
If you email us, we will hold your email address and the contents of your message for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry, and afterwards for a reasonable period for record-keeping. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your details with anyone else unless we are legally required to.
Our software
Our software products are designed to work without collecting personal data. Unless a product's own documentation clearly states otherwise:
- our applications do not collect analytics or telemetry;
- they do not transmit your files or personal information to us;
- any network requests they make (for example, checking for updates) send only what is technically necessary for that feature.
Where a specific product does collect data, that product will have its own privacy notice, which will be linked from the product's page and shown to you before the collection happens.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to request access to it, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@smithyforge.com.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. Significant changes to how a product handles data will also be noted in that product's release notes.
